When a large deep-space mining ship finds an odd artefact on a far-off planet, it falls dark. As Engineer Isaac Clarke sets out on the repair mission, he finds himself in the middle of a horrific blood bath, with the crew of the ship having been horrifically murdered and infected by an alien plague.
