What is Baseball Mogul?
You can start Baseball Mogul® in any year between 1900 and the present, and it will have the entire roster of your preferred team or a completely made-up squad.
Putting up the greatest player roster to lead your club to the World Series is the responsibility of the General Manager (GM). As you assemble your club, you can engage in intricate player trades and sign players to multi-year contracts; but, you will have to contend with competition from other general managers and wage negotiations with player agents.
In addition to overseeing all financial matters, the general manager is responsible for preventing the team from going bankrupt. Establish the pricing for tickets, concessions, and TV broadcast rights to increase revenue for your team. At the same time, control costs by establishing the budget for your farm system, player scouting, medical staff, and player salary. But exercise caution—fans can get irrational if your team loses or if the cost of the tickets increases!
If your first year doesn’t work out, Baseball Mogul’s comprehensive amateur draft gives you another shot. You get to select among the world’s top high school and college players. Should your new recruits prove to be skilled enough, bring them on board immediately; if not, assign them to your lower league squad so they may receive training and development.
As general manager, you are not just involved in the front office of the team. You have total command over your team on the pitch in Baseball Mogul. You begin by assigning your team’s starting defence, batting order, and pitching rotation. You get to decide how involved you want to be on game day. When necessary, you can make calls to the dugout while relaxing in the opulent box. Alternatively, you can assume command of every player and decide which pitches to throw, when to bunt, and whether to go for an extra base. You may be guaranteed the highest level of realism imaginable as a robust gaming engine replicates every pitch of the game using personalised player ratings and more than a century’s worth of historical data!
