Redout is an homage to vintage racing beasts like POD, Rollcage, WipeOut, and F-Zero. It is intended to be a driving experience that is unwavering, quick, resilient, and fulfilling, full of the vertigo that is the essence of the arcade racing subgenre. Physics underpins both the floating system and the driving models; every turn, hill, severe brake, acceleration, and twist in the track will impart a different force on the ship. With a distinct low-polygon style, Unreal Engine 4’s most advanced shading and lighting effects are combined with meshes and terrains to produce stunning and instantly recognizable visuals. The sad, dystopian atmosphere of a semi-abandoned Earth provides the backdrop for the most intense, fast-paced, and breathtaking future racing battles. Think breezy coastlines, scary frozen landscapes, and enormous desert plains.
