The “Archaeological Ruin Exploration Action Game” LA-MULANA combines the severe difficulty of retro-inspired gaming with the timeless charm of adventure. Explore historic sites in search of the “Secret Treasure of Life,” which is rumored to be the origin of all civilization and is said to be sleeping under the expansive ruins of “LA-MULANA.” Sadly, valuable items seldom ever part with them without difficulty.
In addition to the numerous traps that are waiting to be set, there are monsters scavenging the ruins. Navigate into the most remote areas of the ruins while resolving a number of riddles, avoiding enemies, and setting traps. It won’t be easy to move forward; the mysteries get harder the lower you go. The guardians of LA-MULANA are serious about their duty.
The highly anticipated PC port of the WiiWare remake, LA-MULANA, is now on Steam. Originally developed during the “amateur” days of its developers, LA-MULANA is one of the first NIGORO games and has gained international recognition.
The inspiration behind this game was “that old-time feeling.” The developers wanted to play games that had captured their attention in the past, but at a higher volume. Undoubtedly, the operability and difficulty level are not “new school.” But, for players looking for that complete immersion experience that lets them go head-to-head with a game that’s a little lighter, this one is highly recommended.
Nearing its ninth birthday, LA-MULANA never fails to enthrall, irritate, and destroy both new and seasoned players.
